The antenatal course is a wonderful preparation for the parenting workshop, providing you with a strong foundation in mindfulness practice and introducing you to some of the core tenets of effective parenting.
This course is unique in that it is designed and facilitated by a psychologist. Dr Adrienne Brown specialises in perinatal psychology and mindfulness and, a mother of two herself, is committed to providing people with the right support during this exciting yet uncertain and often challenging time.
By attending this course you will learn all you need to know about childbirth and more!
Our midwife will teach you about
- The stages of childbirth
- Birth positions
- Birth partner support
Adrienne will teach you skills to
- Sit with uncertainty
- Ground, focus and conserve energy in childbirth
- Enable relaxation and softening during labour
- Manage labour pain
- Bond with your baby during pregnancy
- Manage stress, fatigue, anxiety and fear
- Cope with unmet expectations
You are welcome to attend…
At any stage of pregnancy – usually second or third trimester
When pregnant for the second, third, or fourth (or fifth!) time – some people want to do things differently next time, and it’s so hard to find time for yourself, your baby and your partner once there is already a little one in your family

Courses are designed for a maximum of five couples (pregnant women and birthing partner), thereby allowing a safe and comfortable space for learning and participation

Facilitated by Dr Adrienne Brown, and mother of two and perinatal psychologist, this workshop supports you to develop confidence in your parenting and strengthen family bonds. This requires:
- Self-care and emotional wellbeing
- Trusting your innate capacity as a parent
- Understanding developmental impacts on behaviour
- Allowing yourself to make mistakes
- Tuning in to your child’s emotional needs
- Enhancing emotional resilience
- Improving communication with your partner
This course is open to anyone wanting guidance around parenting
Pregnant women and partners, people who recently became parents, or more experienced parents wanting to redefine the way they are with their child.
Partners attend for free!
A non-refundable deposit of $100 secures your place in the workshop and the remaining fee is due one week prior to the workshop commencing.
